About the Archives

In addition to its specimen collections, the Museum of Vertebrate Zoology houses an extensive and largely hidden collection of historic field notebooks, correspondence, annotated maps, images, and artwork. Now, thanks to a newly awarded three-year grant from the Council for Library and Information Resources, the Museum has begun to catalog and make more accessible its archival materials.

The purpose of the MVZ Archives blog is to document the progress of the Hidden Archives project and to highlight some of the rich historical materials we discover along the way.

For more information about the project, please visit the MVZ website, or read more about the CLIR funding here.
